The Space & Launch Engineering team is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its team. The program seeks a highly talented, motivated, and creative software developer to engineer new solutions for a HyperSat satellite Ground Processing System. Position responsibilities: Lead software design, coding, and unit/integration testing of customer driven space ground capabilities Develop, modify, and eventually sustain new components, applications, and interfaces for a new space ground system. Troubleshoot and resolve various software issues in support of achieving an operational system. Contribute to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture. Develop & maintain software architecture on a cloud infrastructure with several consumer-facing user interfaces, driven by a completed satellite ground system. Position may require occasional travel to Washington DC region, Phoenix, AZ, and United Kingdom. Position is available for remote working after Boeing/Program orientation, overviews, and computing assets are established (~1-2 week) The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 CFR | 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 5+ years' experience in foundational CS knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns 5+ years' experience with Java, JavaScript, or C++ Experience with JIRA, GIT and other work management software Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Leadership experience/abilities and ability to training or mentor junior engineers Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management is preferred. Experience with one or more of the following: HTML 5, CSS 3, Javascript, Firebug and JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, SOAP, REST, Experience using dependency management (Ivy, Maven, Gradle) Experience using cloud based infrastructure (AWS) Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain Experience working as part of an agile software development product team Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation This position is remote opportunity and does not offer relocation.
