You'll join a dynamic and multi-disciplined organization in innovating for complex technical systems. MITRE seeks professionals with various systems and software engineering expertise (eg DevOps, cloud architecture, test automation, process modeling and analysis, scaled agile methodologies, etc.) to work with a team of experienced experts to lead strategic system design and development efforts. You will support problem solving for a variety of government agencies, offices, and programs in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors. Specific responsibilities will include: Designing, engineering, analyzing, and developing systems composed of software components Modeling and analyzing software systems Modeling and analyzing software development and deployment processes Provide assistance to federal agencies in tailoring agile techniques, concepts and approaches including Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, Lean, or other suitable agile approaches Engage government leaders in defining the context, problem space and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, road maps, transformation plans and next steps Development of agile processes, plans, and architectures to support software development, analysis, and operations Required for consideration: Bachelor degree in a technical major (computer science, systems engineering, information systems, computer engineering, etc.) or equivalent engineering degree. Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining DoD security clearance Proficiency in at least one programming language Understanding of agile development methodologies (eg, Scrum, SAFe, Feature and Test-Driven Development, Lean, etc.) Experience using software collaboration tools (Git, JIRA, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills Ability to design and deliver prototypes in fast-paced environments Ability to facilitate business customers and technical teams from problem identification through system prototyping and deployment Preferred: Qualified candidates that possess a current/active US Government clearance are preferred Familiarity with systems engineering practices and mindsets (including system of systems) Understanding of the full software lifecyle including development, test, operations, and maintenance.
