Explore your future and launch your career today.Northrop Grumman is seeking a HR Business Partner or Principal HR Business Partner (HRBP) to provide HR consultation, subject matter expertise and partnership to our Engineering and Products Business Unit (BU). The selected candidate will partner with the business to develop and implement solutions and deliver exceptional HR support in a challenging and dynamic business environment. The HR Business Partner will achieve results and address challenges, take ownership of projects, demonstrate self-directed learning, and provide and accept continuous feedback in a supportive work environment that offers continued opportunities for growth and development.Primary Responsibilities:Serve as the business partner and consultant to internal customers, including: organizational and staff development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and reward and recognition.Diagnose organizational needs and develop practical, creative and/or innovative solutions to increase team and organizational performance and advance the business strategy. Ensure solutions are effectively implemented and sustained.Organize, prioritize, plan, schedule, and execute BU/Division/Sector/Corporate HR projects/initiatives.Responsibilities/Duties:Lead bench talent reviews for Directorates within the BU; consult with leadership to define meaningful development experiences for identified critical talent. Coach leadership on creating employee individual development plans (IDPs), share Northrop Grumman Development Center (NGDC) resources available, and partner with leadership to solicit cohort program and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) nominations.Analyze and present employee survey data/key themes to Directorate leadership teams and partner with leadership to identify actions that address employee survey priorities and drive change. Advocate inclusion and engagement in driving performance.Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition organization on forecasting resource needs and ensuring a strong talent pipeline. Provide candidate assessment through participation in select key position(s) interview(s). Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to improve timeliness of talent acquisition process, when escalation required by recruiter.Consult with leadership on delivering continuous performance and development feedback, which includes throughout the year, mid-year and year-end evaluations. Consult leadership on development and execution of an integrated approach and strategy on performance improvement (performance coaching, employee discussions, disciplinary actions).Train leadership and consult on performance ratings and compensation input. Prepare for and facilitate performance alignment sessions and "total rewards"A' sessions with BU leadership teams.Coach leadership on effectively responding to employee relations concerns. Advise leadership on managing employee and management performance and conduct. Perform investigations and partner with leadership, ER Center of Excellence (COE), legal, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Train leadership on performance and conduct process, tools, and approaches. Interpret/guide employees and leaders on HR policies and procedures.Review out of cycle promotions and salary adjustments. Conduct compensation comparisons and consult leadership with regards to recommendations for promotions, adjustments, leveling, offers and incentives.Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation. Familiar with Federal and State laws; ability to develop and monitor good faith efforts to provide ensure a diverse workforce.Consult with leadership on COVID-19 risk assessment/mitigation, time charging, business resumption, and/or employee temperature checks.Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business or related field with at least 3 years of strong progressive HR Generalist experience including experience implementing HR programs and processes preferably in a manufacturing and / or engineering environment; or a master's degree and at least 1 year of the required experience.Requires a strong enthusiasm to deliver results, adaptability for change, demonstrate customer focus, and takes initiative to continuously learn.Requires strong consulting skills; able to analyze data to define the root cause, design practical, creative and/or innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are effectively implemented.Requires project management, prioritization, continuous improvement and process improvement thought process.Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building and influencing others skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others. Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business or related field with at least 6 years of strong progressive HR Generalist experience including experience implementing HR programs and processes preferably in a manufacturing and / or engineering environment; or a master's degree and at least 4 years of the required experience.Requires a strong enthusiasm to deliver results, adaptability for change, demonstrate customer focus, and takes initiative to continuously learn.Requires strong consulting skills; able to analyze data to define the root cause, design practical, creative and/or innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are effectively implemented.Requires project management, prioritization, continuous improvement and process improvement thought process.Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building and influencing others skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others. Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Preferred Qualifications:PHR (SHRM-CP) or SPHR (SHRM-SCP) certification is preferred.Salary Range: 67500 - 101300Salary Range 2: 83600 - 125400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
