The responsibilities of the Estimating Department include compiling a qualified bidders list; conveying invitations to bidders; soliciting bids; preparing estimates for all Clark work, quantifying and pricing labor and materials; receiving bids; and reviewing bids to prepare total project costs. The Estimating Department also solicits minority subcontractor/supplier participation in order to meet project requirements and corporate goals. This key member of our team will passionately help promote the development of creative, innovative solutions to construction challenges and enjoy the acquisition of winning profitable work.ResponsibilitiesMaintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the CompanyAnalyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projectsPerform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity surveySupervise and train other estimators in your primary area of expertiseSolicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualificationsLead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategyPerform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bidsAssist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirementsReview total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotationMonitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costsResearch and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methodsExamine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditionsQualifications10+ years of estimating, schematic budgeting, and cost control related experience. Preferred experience in the electrical commercial construction industry working on large-scale ground-up projects.Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degreeField experience is desirableExcellent communication and relationship skillsDemonstrate the ability to either lead or be a part of a team for multiple projects and pursuits at any given time.Knowledge of Accubid, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam Software.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-taskMust be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skillsMust be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating#LI-LG1-CK#GDEqual Opportunity Employer:Clark Construction Group, LLC, (subsidiaries and affiliates) is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
