Explore your future and launch your career today.Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector is looking for a Technical Services Project Manager 5 to support the Operations & Maintenance/Sustaining Engineering Group in the Integrated Operations Directorate. A successful candidate works well in a fast paced environment and enjoys the opportunity to define possible.The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals.Technical Services Project Managers are responsible for Leading and directing one or more project teams in the professional services arena. The focus in this position will be on management of satellites now in the operations phase but will also include cooperation with Business Development for new business opportunities. Primary responsibilities are providing technical and analytical guidance to project team(s) and include but are not limited to:Prepares project execution plan and coordinates activities between client and company personnel.Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections.Oversees performance of projects or engagements and typically utilizes management skills more than technical skills.Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingeniousCultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer communityDeveloping new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plansEstablishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizationsLeading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectivesMeasuring and reporting program performanceDelivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholdersParticipating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditionsEstablishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and testCreation, review and finalization of program Statements of WorkIdentification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirementsEstablishment and management of the program and subordinate baselinesDevelopment and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and toolsIdentifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planningManaging Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.)Managing suppliers to meet program objectivesAdherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standardsEnsuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activitiesDevelopment and adherence to master plans and schedulesConducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realizationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or higher in Systems or Aerospace Engineering or related field10 years of relevant experience - 5 years of relevant experience as an individual contributor, AND 5 years of relevant team leadership experienceExcellent communication skills, presentation experience and the ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the programmatic and technical goalsHistory of direct customer interaction at the Program Management levelPrior experience with on-orbit space and/or ground systemsPreferred Qualifications:Self-Starter with excellent analytical, written and oral communication skillsExtensive program/product/subsystem management experience with strong technical and operations backgroundPrior experience on the NGIS Science and Exploration satellite programsExperience leading satellite operations teams including anomaly resolutionAbility to obtain Top Secret Clearance with SCI level accessExperience supporting ESMO and/or SSMO missions (NASA GSFC and/or JPL)Salary Range: 155600 - 233400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
