Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.This position is responsible for the management of a major supplier for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) spacecraft.In this role, the HALO Subcontract Program Manager will lead a multi-disciplined integrated product team that is responsible for the delivery of a subsystem being produced by one of our major vendors on spec, on schedule and on budget. The HALO Subcontract Program Manager will work directly with the HALO Program Director to develop and evaluate top level programmatic goals, define deliverables and schedules to achieve those goals, and communicate those results to the vendor team to execute. The HALO Subcontract Program Manager will interface with the Vendor Program Management frequently to maintain open communication paths and provide status of the vendor's progress to the HALO Program Management team. This position is expected to be self-directed drawing upon previous proven leadership experience. This role reports directly to the HALO Program Director (or HALO Deputy Program Manager) and works collaboratively with the HALO Supply Chain Manager, HALO Chief Engineer, HALO Engineering Manager, HALO Production Manager, HALO Mission Operations Manager and HALO Flight Assurance Manager, as well as functional management personnel in the Global Supply Chain organization.Essential Functions:Lead all elements of major supplier development and production.Oversees the vendor development activities, including all aspects of engineering development (specifications, drawings, ICDs etc) and supports vendor major design reviews such as PDR and CDR.Oversees the vendor production activities, including avionics, harness, rf/antenna, MLI/Thermal blanket and structures manufacturing/fabrication as appropriate for the subsystem under production Responsible for post-contract award Subcontractor management including compiling program status, financial and schedule reporting and preparing Subcontractor feedback.Coordinates Subcontractor PO placement in support of MRP schedules.Establishes milestones and project plans and manages both internal and subcontractor resources in support of schedule.Briefs executive management and customer on the status and issues affecting Subcontractor performance, cost and risk; conducts program reviews with the Subcontractor and program office.Leads cross functional teamDevelopment and adherence to Integrated Master Schedules (IMS). Schedule Management. Consistently maintain insight into all critical path items, driving schedule execution, and Initial Launch Capability.Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and toolsRisk & Opportunity management to include identification, mitigation and realization of Risk Register and proactively harvest opportunitiesAdherence to all internal processes for Program ManagementDevelopment and delivery of presentations to customers, management, and other key stakeholdersKnowledge and execution of a variety of Teaming/MOU Agreements, Proposals and contract types (FFP, CPFF)Lead the subsystem Integration and Test (I&T) activities planned at the vendor's facility.Communicate frequently with Vendor Management and maintain open dialogue, serving as NGs primary interface for overall subsystem delivery.Frequently present status and production concerns to senior management - Develop solutions to complex test and operations problems as required - Lead or support the program risk management process.Continuously seek improvements to Production & Test efficiencies.Oversee the launch vehicle interface, integrated operations, and schedules as it relates to the vended subsystem - Mentor, guide, direct and advise junior staff.Represent NG as a company with understanding of customer needs to promote NG HALO program.Prepare presentations and present Major Vendor status at Program Management Reviews.Represent the customer to the vendor (understanding the needs and requirements of the customer, and integrating this understanding into vendor execution)Service the customer (executing the program and resolving issues in accordance with business objectives, strategy, legal requirements, regulations, contract terms, and company policies).Balance the interests of the vendor, customer, NG, and employees (ensuring stakeholder objectives are aligned).Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree (BA/BS) or higher in Systems, Integration and Test, or Aerospace Engineering or related field with 10 years of relevant experience; 8 years of applicable experience with Masters.5 years of relevant experience as an individual contributor.5 years of relevant team leadership experience.The ability to identify, select, direct and manage subcontract and supply chain elements of the program in a manner that supports program goals and company strategy.Demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations or employee resource groups to achieve a common goal.Excellent written/oral/presentation skills, including the ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program and senior management.Strong team building capabilities and influencing skills. Experience working with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the programmatic and technical goals.History of direct customer interaction at the Program Management level.Technical experience in systems engineering, integration of space systems, with a broad understanding of complex production flows.Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPointBusiness Acumen: The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance.Planning, Scheduling & Earned Value: The ability to initiate, develop, integrate, execute, direct and control program plans and cost and schedule baselines that meet both program contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.Program Growth: The ability to recognize and respond to customer needs in order to develop additional sales that support organizational objectives.Program Integration: The ability to identify, orchestrate, coordinate and controls the management activities and processes that integrate program interdependencies throughout their life cycle to achieve successful program completion.Communications: The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program and stakeholder needs.Customer intimacy: Consistently makes time to seek and incorporate input from customers and understand their expectations. Guides program team and support functions on how to take action to satisfy customer expectations.Preferred Qualifications:Self-Starter with excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.Extensive program/product management experience with strong technical and operations background.Prior experience on the HALO program or other Human Rated Spacecraft.Salary Range: 130300 - 226400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
