The DoD Health Innovation & Technology Department (P842) is seeking motivated, creative Lead Salesforce Systems Engineer for MITRE's Mclean, VA to apply cutting edge tools and techniques to challenging problems facing the US government. You will have the opportunity to support seasoned Systems and Data Engineering professionals in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to make strategic differences and have real long-term impacts for many challenges that the government is facing. Our department works to solve problems in the public interest, in partnership with agencies within the DoD and Veteran Affairs. We also actively conduct independent research in areas of interest to our government partners. Key Functions: Work with a spectrum of government sponsors to gain understanding of their challenges, evaluate possible solutions and conduct insightful, actionable analyses. Articulate to government sponsors Salesforce design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture. Act as the Salesforce subject matter expert and team lead in development of an in-house Salesforce Org for training and prototype purposes. Assist in the development of data migration strategy and planning. Be passionate about applying systems engineering methodologies and data/models to real world problems. Support the development and application of a variety of analytical models to sponsor challenges, with a willingness to adapt and learn. Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all sponsor audiences, regardless of technical expertise. Have an innate curiosity and interest in developing research questions and testing hypotheses with open ended tasking. Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Required Qualifications: Significant academic concentration in at least one of the following disciplines: Systems Engineering Information Systems Information Technology Computer Science Computer Engineering Cyber Security Statistics Mathematics Salesforce Architect and/or Salesforce Developer certification(s) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with tools/ languages such as APEX, Visual Force, Python, JavaScript, Java Preferred qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience developing Salesforce customizations (Apex/VF), integrations, and developing and executing data migrations A minimum of 2 years of experience creating the technical architecture for complex Salesforce implementations Degree, Certificate, or Certification in Systems Engineering or relevant experience Strong background in Cloud Computing solutions (AWS/Azure) Advanced degree in technical field of study Undergraduate research experience is a plus Preference given to qualified candidates with current / active DoD clearance. Academic/ project experience working with different programming languages, databases in cloud/ distributed architecture Software Development experience in a shared environment leveraging tools such as GIT, AWS or Azure. Experience with SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, DevSecOps, ITSM/ITIL Experience with OpenText a plus This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
