The Neuro Science Department at Johnston-Willis Hospital: 12 Private Rooms ( ICU) ; 23 Private Rooms (Tele) focusing on Brain and Spine Patient nurse Ratio is 2:1 within the ICU and 4:1 within the Telemetry unit Patient Population includes- Complicated Neuro-Surgical Procedures that include Brain and Spine, Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes, Neuro-Interventional and Endovascular Procedures, Brain Tumor and Gamma Knife Treatment etc Ability for new nurses to begin their professional growth on our Neuroscience Stepdown Unit and are able to seamlessly transition to our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) A supportive culture focused on fostering educational opportunities and specialty certification Leaders on this unit have a passion for supporting nurses in reaching their professional goals, excellent practice, and collegial relationships What Sets Us Apart: "I am new to the Neuro Science Unit and what I love most is how friendly the co-workers are. Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care. Collaborates with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively superior organization. Resolves and/or channels employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriate procedures. Escalates issues as needed. Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred 1+ years applicable experience Required We are committed to providing our employees with the support they need.
