**Inova Medical Group is seeking a full-time Cardiac Surgery Registered Nurse** Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Job Responsibilities for the Cardiac Surgery Registered Nurse include: Patient education Answering patient questions pre- and post-surgery Coordinating patient readiness and care throughout the clinic This position is in the outpatient practice for Inova Cardiac Surgery in Fairfax, Virginia- 8081 Innovation Park Drive, Suite 800 on the ICPH campus. This is a fast-paced service line and part of a growing practice. Inova Cardiac Surgery is a team of board-certified Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants, RNs and LPNs dedicated to bringing compassionate, comprehensive clinical care to our patients. Common cardiac surgeries include: Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Repair, Aortic Valve Repair, Tricuspid Valve Repair, Ascending Aortic Aneurysm, Descending Aortic Aneurysm, Thoracoabdominal Aneurysm, Maze Procedure, and a full range of pediatric cardiac cases. The Inova Registered Nurse Outpatient *Clinical Practice & Case Management - Provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families, to include patient and family education. Teamwork - Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes. Quality/Best Practice - Utilizes standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhance outcomes. Professional Development - Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice. Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Minimum: 6 months of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Preference for 1 year or greater nursing experience. Education: Prefer BSN or MSN or if Associates Degree RN-Within 6 months of start date, meet with nurse leader: Identify which Accredited School the employee plans to attend-Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date. Complete BSN within 24 months of start date BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification and ACLS required. RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.
