The High School Treasurer provides administrative support to the High School Executive Principal and Campus Administrators; Develops budget drafts and maintains accuracy of accounts and spending; Oversees all Student Activity Funds from all four campuses of the High School in addition to Athletics; Serves as liaison between Central Office Finance Department and the High School; Leads training and professional development of all other high school administrative assistants with financial-related duties; Responsible for annual audits of the high school treasury accounts; Coordinates budgets between all campuses of the Connected High School Network.

This position reports to the Executive Principal

Qualifications:

Education Bachelor's Degree in job-related area.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
  • Desired:
    • Experience with K-12 financial administration to include budget, reconciliation, audit, reporting, and treasury.
  • Job-related with increasing levels of responsibility required.
  • Familiarity with the Munis financial system preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads the development of the budget in collaboration with the High School Executive Principal and with ACPS Finance Department.
  • Serves as point of contact to support the ACPS financial software and as liaison to the Central Office.
  • Develops the flow of command between those who enter and those who approve in the Financial system.
  • Enters purchase orders and collaborates with the approvers to ensure alignment with division-wide processes and policies.
  • Oversees student activity fund actions, including collection, reimbursements, and depositing.
  • Reconciles financial statements for all campuses and assists the Athletics Department in doing the same.
  • Prepares documentation for the financial services department to issue payments to vendors.
  • Prepares and participates in annual school financial audits, in collaboration with the Executive Principal.
  • Coordinates meetings and activities in support of assigned administrative personnel's operational activities.
  • Evaluates interactions, situations, and events (e.g., involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) and takes appropriate actions and directs to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Maintains a wide variety of files and records (manual/computer; confidential/non-confidential) (e.g., budget, purchase orders, payroll, etc.) to provide documentation in accordance with administrative and legal requirements.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
  • Monitors assigned departmental activities and/or program components (e.g., payroll, travel arrangements and reimbursements, meetings and events, etc.) to ensure goals are achieved, target dates are met, and financial, legal, and administrative requirements are satisfied.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g., board summaries, reports, memos, letters, financial information, minutes, etc.) to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information.
  • Processes a wide variety of documents and materials (e.g., payroll adjustments, leave slips, employment verifications, course reimbursement, budget adjustments, etc.) to disseminate information in compliance with program, district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Researches a wide variety of topics (e.g., current practices, policies, education codes, etc.) to provide information for addressing a variety of administrative requirements.
  • Serves as a resource for all staff on four High School campuses regarding day-to-day financial instruction and questions.
  • Responds to a wide variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g,. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) to provide information, facilitate communication among parties, and provide direction.
  • Serves as a resource to other support staff to provide direction and technical support.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Principal's administrative assistant on daily High School activities.
  • Attends meetings and workshops to record events, convey, and receive information.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned .


Clearances:
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.

Public Health Compliance
  • Proof of COVID vaccination. Exemptions for religious/medical will be reviewed.
  • Must follow safety and health protocols.
