We are looking to hire a new member to join our Corporate Communications & Reputation Management team in either our NYC or DC offices to play a key role on several diverse pieces of business. The ideal candidate is proactive and incredibly organized, with a proven track record of managing up and down on a complex line of business. A real self-starter and someone looking for an opportunity to grow. Experience working with corporate/B2B clients a plus. Primary Responsibilities: Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success; participate actively in account team strategy sessions and brainstorms Serve as the lynchpin of a client relationship team, liaising between clients, vendors, and agency departments to keep teams and deliverables organized Own media relations for your teams, from drafting materials that will secure proactive coverage for your clients to cultivating relationships with journalists and influencers Conduct media monitoring to identify client-relevant media coverage, including competitive market and industry information, and perform analysis on these stories for your clients Proofread internal and client documents for accuracy and quality Develop a thorough understanding of the digital landscape and provide hands-on social and digital support, including content development and digital strategy for clients across multiple digital platforms. Whenever possible, utilize MWW's research & insights and paid media offerings to enhance every earned media program What you have to have: At least 2 years of experience serving in a full-time role either in a public relations agency or the communications department of a company in a relevant industry Bachelor's degree in public relations, a related field or in the liberal arts Experience working with corporate/B2B clients is a plus! Superior oral and written communication skills; strong proofreading and editing ability Demonstrated proficiency in media writing and media relations (story pitching to traditional media and bloggers, writing releases and bylines, ability to find creative angles and create highly targeted media strategies and pitches) Maintain a professional, client-ready demeanor and presence; keep a high standard of etiquette in all communications and interactions A demonstrated understanding of and affinity for digital tools and media platforms (including social media) Track record of cultivating strong relationships with journalists and influencers; proactively pitch media daily and secure publicity for clients (local, regional, national) Excellent project management capability; can execute against multiple tasks, including: events, press material development, media briefings, and product launches. Keeps account team abreast of timelines, managing up to superiors to ensure deadlines are met Exceptional time management skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Cision, Moreover, Factiva, TV Eyes or other monitoring tools Proven ability to think strategically, creatively and proactively; exhibit a facility for problem solving and close attention to detail Ability to "get smart quickly"- understand and learn different business sectors swiftly Great communicator and media relations skills Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are met Track record of generating targeted impactful earned coverage Ability to travel as necessary contingent on client and new business needs (requirements vary) Success Factors and Other Details: Avid consumer of general and business/economics news and media Maintain a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and industries; become an expert on clients' products and services; demonstrate these products to media Ability to think strategically, creatively and proactively; exhibit a facility for problem solving and close attention to detail Desire to pursue knowledge and professional development Participate in agency development by working collaboratively across all practice areas Cultivate and exhibit strong presentation and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are met Consistently strive for personal excellence with both client deliverables and within your team, enabling MWW to maintain competitive advantage by providing exceptional value and service
