Senior Network Engineer
Job Description Senior Network Engineer Location : McLean, VA Job Category: IT Industry : Mortgage Duration : 6 months with possible contract to hire Description: Candidate will be responsible for providing operational leadership and support for multi-site enterprise and data center network environments; including troubleshooting of network and security infrastructure technologies and solutions! Your work falls into four primary categories:Operational SupportWork on requests through the ticketing system to resolve or implement network changes to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxies and DNS systems.Provide network configuration and troubleshooting support.Diagnose, tackle and provide root cause analysis for hardware and network related issues.Support and Participate in our On-call rotation schedule and be available to assist during major issue or outages.Business Communication. Engage with IT and business areas to discuss issues and document or explain technical solutions in a simplified way.Mentor junior members in the operations team and engineering teams. Technical Execution: Engage in efforts to Automate routine tasks across the Engineering and Operations teams so that customers can utilize a self-serve model of basic changes without the need of tickets and engaging engineering staff. Understand Network, Security and Voice standards, reference architectures and robust/scalable/secure Network, Security and Voice infrastructure, its outcome and ongoing results. Provide technical expertise to implement, configure and troubleshoot multiple technologies. Project Execution:Engage in a variety of project work implementing new technology and improving the stability and standards of the enterprise infrastructure.Participate in project deployments with other engineers to meet deadlines and requirements. Compliance:Assist with Audits and Risk Management activities.Ensure infrastructure meets compliance requirements.Assist with issue remediation activities.Look for ways to automate compliance and reporting. Required Level of experience: 7-10 YearsOperations Support, day to day incident response, root-cause analysis Technical Must Haves:- Routing/Switching, Firewalls - experience with Palo Alto- Load Balancing - F5- Arista, VXLAN, EVPN, Cisco IOS and Cisco Nexus Switches and Routers, Cisco Wireless, Cisco ASA VPN, F5 Networks LTM/GTM.- Network Monitoring tool experience is nice to have.
