The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is actively recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Baltimore Maryland. This position will support our Finance Division and executive team in efforts to make decisions and implement operational improvements with accurate data-based findings. The ideal candidate will provide financial planning support including assignment of physician profitability, compensation, and special projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Our team is excited to grow and add this new member.Scope/Responsibilities:Assist with financial analysis, general ledger account analysis, and operational analysisPrepare and deliver reporting functions to monitor monthly objectivesAssist with consolidation of actual financial and non-financial informationAssist with forecasting productivity and operating resultsResponsible for production and integrity of dashboard and scorecard resultsCollaborate across the Department to provide opportunities for efficienciesPrepare submission for approval of online payments, business expenses, and journal transfers upon requestDeliver financial support to the Department including assistance with monthly close process and participation in annual budget processComplete ad-hoc reports and requestsPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Must possess strong financial and technical skills, which assumes competent spreadsheet and financial database capabilities (Microsoft Excel, Cognos, etc.); strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Experience with database application/software is highly preferred (Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to work within fixed deadlines, meet concurrent deadlines, and prioritize own work. Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be effective with follow-up and tracking capabilities.
