Before transitioning to MITRE's permanent national security or technical staff, you will benefit from the following program pillars:An intensive, experiential onboarding programFocused mentoring with MITRE national security leaders and experts in your fieldAn in-depth rotational work programJob Responsibilities:Working alongside MITRE mission specialists and engineers, you will be supporting national security sponsors while helping to design, develop, and implement solutions and technologies to address the data science and analytics challenges of our government sponsors. You will learn about MITRE sponsor missions and apply your technical knowledge and skills to problem-solving and innovation. At the culmination of the Accelerator Program, you will become part of MITRE's National Security team focused on sponsor missions with a strong technical background enabling you to be a future leader in the company.From high performance computing to maximizing operational effectiveness and efficiency, you will learn to apply data science and analytics engineering expertise, innovative concepts, and technology solutions to address every facet of our sponsor's data challenges to include:BiometricsData AnalyticsData ManagementData ScienceGeospatial Information SciencesWhat are some examples of projects I might work on?Kill chain analysis, intelligence data fusion, and operations analysisVisualizations and interpretation of large data sets using TableauToolkit for neural topic modeling and variational autoencodersEvaluation of modern deep reinforcement learning algorithms to develop scenarios that require multi-agent cooperationMachine Learning techniques for radio frequency signals based on big data analytics of RF spectrumWhat does an ideal MITRE Accelerator Data Scientist have?Hands-on experience gained from previous work experience or relevant intern/co-op workApplied knowledge of data science and analytics principles, tools, and devicesProficiency in a range of techniques and languages for performing data analysis at scaleInterdisciplinary background with at least of one of those disciplines being data science, computer science, or a related fieldEvidence of being a life-long learner, with a passion for the fieldHigh-level desire to help our nation solve critical problemsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in data science, computer science, data analytics, statistics, math, or a related field of study and two years of relevant experienceProficiency in one or more of the following: Python (scikit-learn, numpy, pandas, Jupyter), Scala/Java, C/C++/C#, Objective C; Database design & development (SQL, Neo4J, MongoDB); AWS (Sagemaker, S3)Preferred Qualifications:1-3 years of experience in data science principles, tools, and devicesExperience working projects related to national security for one or more government agenciesInterdisciplinary background, with evidence of continual learningUnderstanding of or experience with statistical software and data visualization tools such as R, SPSS, SAS, and UNIX shell scriptingHands on proficiency using data science techniques, including machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, and data visualizationAbility to find patterns in data and clearly articulate the entire analysis (ie, methodology, results, assumptions, constraints) using various suites of toolsExperience applying various machine learning approaches (eg, random forest, neural networks, support vector machines)Experience developing interactive data visualizations using open-source web technologies (Angular, Vue, React, D3.js) or other frameworks (Shiny, Plotly, Dash)Experience developing data-intensive full stack containerized web applications using Node.js, Flask, Django, or other technologiesFamiliarity with working in cloud-based environments like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft AzureExperience working with big data analytic environments including Apache Spark, Presto, Impala, or other distributed SQL enginesThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
