Primary Purpose

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will support Emmes' CFO by leading the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis of the financial team. Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations. Develops insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, and cost reduction. Must be able to work effectively with individuals both within the Finance and Accounting Department as well as outside the department and proactively work with internal stakeholders to assess reporting needs and offer solutions. The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will use financial systems, including Microsoft Excel, Costpoint Enterprise Reporting, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and other tools to retrieve, array, display, and analyze data, performance, and trends.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates organizational projects or plans to determine the financial impact
  • Enhancing the corporate budget process and model to ensure annual plans and forecasts accurately capture costs across all verticals, functional areas, and legal entities
  • Work with leaders throughout the organization to form budgets that support corporate growth and manage costs in a competitive environment
  • Ensure financial metrics and budgets are entered in the ERP and reports are issued to allow leaders across the organization to manage financial performance and be held accountable
  • Assist with comparative financial statement preparation (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows) and analysis of the results
  • Support integration of affiliate entities into Emmes' financial reporting
  • Maintains a 12-month rolling forecast by entity and on a consolidated basis; a 13-week cash forecast; and financial performance by service line, therapeutic area, function, etc.
  • Lead or assist with ad-hoc assignments and analysis as needed
  • Promote a high-quality customer experience for both internal and external clients
  • Lead a team of report writers and analysts

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field , Masters preferred with at least 5 years of relevant management experience
  • Experience working in a Federal Government Contracting environment Required
  • Strong organization, time management, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve goals
  • Self-starter and detail-oriented
  • Experience working in the life sciences industry preferred
