Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

-Serve as a Watch Officer on one of three shifts operating on a 24 hours-per-day, 7 day-per-week basis. The Watch Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing key domestic and overseas events, developments, and other matters of Treasury interests.

-Monitor the actions of other Federal agencies during these events through the interagency coordination process (primarily conference calls), the monitoring of the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN), and other sources, as directed by the TOC Director and OEP Director, in coordination with customers.

-Perform in Emergency Response roles within the TOC and Command Center such as providing command and control, alert notification, decision support, common operating picture construction, or others as required during incident response involving Treasury facilities.

-Perform telephone call processing services (accepting, making, and transferring) for calls from the public, transferring to Treasury bureaus, and for senior leadership.

-Prepare and disseminate TOC products (e.g., briefings, reports, and summaries). Support the development and conducting of briefs and updates for TOC customers.

    Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience for the GS-09 level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in all of the following areas:
    -Performing situational awareness monitoring and incident reporting duties related to emergency response or preparedness; AND
    -Providing communications support and telephone / customer service processing; AND
    -Production of reports through research, analysis / production, or dissemination.

    OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: a Masters or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
    OR You may qualify based on the equivalent combination of education and experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience.
