OUT OF AREA candidates and/or those requiring a relocation will NOT be considered.POSITION SUMMARY: This is a technical position responsible for the collection and testing of samples of various chemical compounds and biological specimens. Daily work involves the routine and repetitive use of various types of machinery, lab equipment and programs to perform tests, record data or findings and present information.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepares and weighs product samples; performs repetitive/routine testing activities to include accessioning and pipettingDocuments results pertaining to strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristicsAssembles data and other pertinent information into groups, charts, graphs, reports, and the like for others to evaluateHelps to set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for testing activities under the supervision of team analystsUtilizes problem-solving skills to help to determine when an apparatus may need to be recalibrated or requires servicingRestocks inventory supplies used in various testing activities; provides for the weekly cleaning of glasswareRecords and verifies log entries for various pieces of equipment/apparatus including balances, incubator, refrigerator/freezer, etc.Complies with all established safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations designed to ensure a safe work environmentExpected to perform other job-related duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: General Knowledge/AbilitiesAbility to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal directionAbility to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with fellow employeesAnalytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurementAbility to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios; demonstrated abilities in troubleshooting and problem-solvingBasic knowledge of modern office practices and use of Microsoft Office Suite for Word and ExcelExperience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectivesAbility to build relationships to strengthen partnerships with a focus on customer serviceAbility to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.Education, Licenses/CertificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited college or universityPreferred Experience1-2 years in experience in service based/customer-facing position2 years academic experience in an analytical laboratory settingSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: From $18.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:HolidaysNight shiftWeekend availabilityEducation:Bachelor's (Required)Experience:Laboratory Experience: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
