Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) We are currently recruiting for an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to develop clinical assessments for our Optum Cancer Support Program. You can learn more about the program here: https://www.optum.com/business/solutions/employer/medical-benefit-management/oncology-management.html Primary Responsibilities: Develop and implement clinical protocols to be used by Optum Cancer Support Program to engage cancer patients throughout the cancer journey. These protocols may include support on: engaging members at high risk for admission, engaging currently admitted / recently discharged patients, identifying + stratifying patients based on clinical condition, identifying members needing to be supported through in-home nurse, recommending clinical interventions based on patient-specific conditions, and more Patients in scope for program may be undergoing chemotherapy / systemic therapy, radiation therapy and/or surgery May entail leveraging clinical experience, and reviewing guidelines licensed by external entities (eg, NCCN, Oncology Nursing Society) Assessments should include consideration for risks associated with therapies/treatments, how symptoms differ by cancer types, defining risks for admission Required Qualifications: Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of residence 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse 5+ years in oncology clinical delivery (ie Developing clinical protocols and/or conducting assessments to support cancer patients in symptom management) Experience developing clinical protocols / assessments to support cancer patients in symptom management and/or palliative care Critical thinking skills and proven ability to deliver data-driven results Dedicated, distraction-free space in home for home office Access to high-speed internet Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
