Organization Overview | Close Up's mission is to inform, inspire, and empower young people to exercise the rights and accept the responsibilities of citizens in a democracy. As a non-profit/non-partisan leader in civic education since 1971, we believe that a strong democracy requires active and informed participation by all citizens; therefore, we seek to reach participants of every race, creed, geographical community, socio-economic level, and academic standing. We reach about 25,000 participants annually through our in-person, placed-based programming, teacher professional development, virtual programs, and classroom curriculum. Position Overview | The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator is a hybrid, in-office and remote, position that provides support and assistance across the Foundation as a member of the Marketing team. This position combines marketing and design skills with administrative and organizational functions. The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator is involved in establishing marketing strategy, producing creative content (print and digital), along with managing reporting and analytics. The ideal creative for this role is an innovative team player. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate in the development, design and implementation of creative Close Up marketing strategies, collateral, tactics, and campaigns Manage and produce (printing/folding/packaging) all weekly student travel program schedules, departure schedules, custom schedules, and attend bi-monthly tie-down meetings for schedule production Support email marketing efforts including: CRM lead imports, sales email blasts, monthly newsletter creation, and reporting Manage and implement pre- and post-program email blasts to teachers and parents Develop and maintain web and school account schedules, sales support documents, and informational customer resources Design, format, and edit all price quote proposals for Sales Reps Collaborate with the sales department to find new ways to cultivate leads Coordinate, shoot, and edit photos/videos at DC monuments and memorials for social media, web, and various foundation publications Assist in editing/proofing copy and design for web documents, social media posts, direct mail pieces, and academic and promotional materials Establish metrics for success, analyze and report on marketing data, and contribute ideas to improve strategy and tactics Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university At least one year's relevant experience in graphic design, marketing, or related field Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Apps including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop Authorized to work in the US for any employer Proof of COVID-19 vaccination as required by company policy Willingness to submit to a post-offer criminal background check according to federal regulations Other/Preferred Qualifications Advanced computer and Microsoft 365 skills An interest or experience in marketing (web, social, and email) reporting and analytics Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently Compensation and Benefits | The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator starting salary is between $45,000-$50,000 per year.
