JOB SUMMARYThe primary responsibility of this position is to guide internal consulting delivery focused in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, within the Strategic Programs Office (SPO). The primary goal is to partner with CBRE departments and new acquisitions to drive impactful business results that change the top and bottom line.Engage in quality delivery of selected engagements while providing best practice, distinct and practical expertise and overall thought leadershipGuide and mentor members of the SPO team in the successful delivery of client engagements of impactful projectsTailor individual approaches to shaping and scoping client work such that we can achieve the client outcomes with the best solution for CBREPartner within the SPO to bring forward the best practices and thought leadership Maximize team utilization, staff development, and overall career progressionLocations: This job may be performed remotely from the following locations only: Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Washington DC; New York City, NY ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Client Value o In an M&A environment, contribute to the business strategy as well as the business plan on a consecutive level, from the perspective of the assigned area, and ensure translation to mid-term strategy and policy for the assigned area. o Share best practices on structuring the diligence and integration effort (including insights from prior similar deals) o Oversee integration of acquisitions and investments into operations o Project manage execution of integration plans o Identify and assess post-integration process optimization opportunities o Identify and implement improvements to the M&A process in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the overall process o Establishes trust-based, advisory client relationships. Drive achievement of targeted client outcomes and overall SPO objective and brand development o Leads development, iteration and syntheses of key messages during client meetings/presentations o Projects and inspires confidence while delivering relevant insights and expertise o Play a lead role in identifying opportunities to optimize SPO value delivery and client outcome o Ensure "success conditions" for effective knowledge transfer to clients and across SPO team o Drive development and documentation of new SPO intellectual capital from ongoing client work o Leads overall SPO's overall relationship management with project delivery team and key stakeholders o Anticipates and manages potential issues and conflict during client engagements Team Leadership o Partners with key client stakeholders to structure engagements with realistic scope, work cadence and effective team balance & chemistry o Ensures that SPO team is positioned for success and in roles that address developmental priorities o Effectively anticipates and manages project and team conflicts o Manages stressful situations with poise and without compromising client service orientation o Effectively leads a SPO "community of practice" in targeted areas o Shows strong followership of junior staff seeking to work for her/him o Uphold and exhibit CBRE RISE Values: Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence. Respond well to feedback and show related performance corrections Distinct knowledge and Institution Building o Leverages relevant industry trends, LoB ad functional knowledge to play active role in shaping SPO's overall client account plan, value proposition and relevant project agenda o Viewed by clients as expert and thought leader in relevant LoB and at least two functional areas (M&A, change management, or operational process excellence) o Plays an active role designing, driving and safeguarding SPO's intellectual capital and extended knowledge network in relevant areas o Is an active member of relevant professional associations o Plays a lead role in CBRE's corporate innovation and knowledge management initiatives-beyond SPO-specific initiatives o Works with VPs to advance SPO's strategy and priority client, team development and building institutional initiatives o Leads by example and encourages and enables junior team members to participate and lead in corporate stewardship and local office events QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, technology, industrial engineering, organizational psychology or related fields with a minimum of 8-10 years related work experience. Masters degree with real estate or other financial service industry experience and general leadership experience are preferred. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Certification in the following disciplines are preferred: - Lean Six Sigma - Agile Methodology Certification (ie CSM) - ProSci / Change Management COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Comprehensive understanding of successful transformational initiatives: o Value agenda and business case development o Operational and Process Excellence o Organizational Design and Enablement (talent strategies, change management training, etc.) Proficiency in developing change management artifacts / tools in support of strategic objectives (Ability to resource plan, Advanced problem solving) Change Management Expertise in major organizational transformational program(s) outside of ERP Implementation or Similar IT Implementations. and / or Process Transformation expertise leveraging a defined methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of constraints) SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
