Security Installation Technician Apprentice
Overview:Kastle Systems is participating in the First Source Apprenticeship program, a year long program designed to offer a Service Install Technician Trade Certification. At the conclusion of this one year apprenticeship, you will have completed 2000 hours of classroom and on-the-job training related to door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices, building codes, commercial access control, video systems, low voltage and commercial cabling and wiring. You will be able to install and test new CCTV, access control, and security systems accurately and on time following Kastle's procedures and quality control standards. You will be able to identify any issues regarding timeline or progress and communicate to supervisor, and you will maintain working knowledge regarding Kastle services, technology and internal processes/proceduresKastle Systems First Source Apprenticeship Registration Number - 100258Responsibilities:Use and manipulate hand tools, small power tools, communication and diagnostic devicesUse color vision to distinguish colored wires, signals, other lighting devicesTechnical/Trade/Vocational schoolwork or experience in electronics/electrical (Desirable, but not required)Strong communication skils/customer service focusReliable and punctual with strong attendance historyQualifications:At least 18 years oldEligible to obtain a valid state driver's license and maintain an acceptable safe driving recordHigh school diploma (GED equivalent) requiredAble to lift and carry up to 75 pounds - climbing stairs and ladders while carrying weight, ie, cabling wireReliable transportation to work sites in and around the DC/VA areasOther Eligibility Requirements:Must be willing to participate in and pass the company's pre-employment screening process including a background investigation, motor vehicle check and drug screening.Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver's license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.Are able to obtain and maintain a 35E Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services electronic security license including FBI fingerprintingWork Environment:Open floor plans with ambient noise and activity consistent with office or call center workActive constructive sites often without HVACConfined spaces (closets, basements, etc.)The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, tools and vehicleCompany Overview:Kastle Systems is the leader in managed security, with a track record of introducing innovative technologies to serve over 460M square feet of real estate globally.
