Applicants with qualifying disabilities or bona fide religious objections, or who are pregnant, may be exempted from this requirement or otherwise accommodated if they are unable to be vaccinated.Additionally, all applicants for employment at Lerner Enterprises who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to pass a background check and reference checks prior to commencing employment.Job Summary: The Engineer is responsible for the day to day operation and maintenance of all associated building equipment, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, energy management systems, fire life safety system, chemical treatment and power distribution systems. The Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of his/her assigned location, the upkeep and cleanliness of their mechanical areas, painting and labeling of equipment components, and the monitoring of construction and special projects.Essential Responsibilities: Operate, maintain and perform daily visual safety inspections of building equipment including but not limited to boilers, pressure vessels, fire suppression equipment, fire life safety systems and emergency power equipment.Complete daily engineers log of all relevant equipment incidents and status changes.Make adjustments, as required, and perform preventive maintenance in accordance with prescribed schedules.Respond to alarms and assist Management personnel to resolve incidents.Place orders to support the operation of the plant and all mechanical and electrical systems.Operate building EMS systems. Be cognizant of alarms and respond efficiently and effectively to maintain a safe working environment.Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment. Distinguish problems and anomalies from normal operating parameters, and record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences to the Chief Engineer.Maintain records of fuel consumption, maintenance services, repairs, and supplies.Ability to make minor repairs of a mechanical nature.Assist in emergency situations ie, flooding, snow removal, as required.Perform additional duties as assigned.Education/Experience: CFC Certification required for working with refrigerants at his/her assigned location.Possess a trade license if local jurisdiction requires one.A high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is desired.A minimum of five years of building maintenance experience; two of which are in mechanical operations and the maintenance/operation of boilers and chillers (large commercial facility desired but not mandatory).
