As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.Human Resources announces an opening for the position of Classification & Position Management Coordinator. This is a twelve-month position.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORKThe Classification & Position Management Coordinator performs a variety of professional human resources duties in the administration of position classification, compensation management, and position management systems; prepares classification specifications and job descriptions; conducts job analyses, classifications reviews, and studies to determine the proper classification of positions; conducts compensation reviews and makes recommendations regarding pay and salary scale structures; develops staffing allocations and position authorization levels for schools and offices; provides advice and guidance to management regarding classification, compensation, and position management matters; performs other related duties as assigned.The Classification & Position Management Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Director, Human Resources Operations.RESPONSIBILITIES:ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK (May not include all duties performed - These are intended as an illustration of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)Conducts job analyses, classifications reviews, and organizational studies to determine the proper classification of positions.Reviews and analyzes job duties and knowledge, skills and abilities requirements to classify positions appropriately.Prepares and revises classification specifications and job descriptions and identifies essential functions. Establishes minimum and preferred qualifications.Conducts total compensation studies and recommends pay grade changes as appropriate. Prepares analyses and reports associated with pay grade changes and reclassification actions.Researches legal and regulatory issues affecting classification, compensation, and position management.Develops staffing allocations and position authorization levels for schools and offices.Develops and administers methodologies for the allocation, tracking, and reporting of staffing.Analyzes student enrollment, historical enrollment data, class size data, programmatic requirements, and other information to make recommendations regarding staffing allocations to schools.Ensures that principals and office administrators have employed their staffing allocations appropriately and at the established levels. Identifies and verifies systemic position vacancies.Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding staffing standards and ratios used in the allocation of staffing.Performs related duties as required or assigned.EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExperience working with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.Bilingual skills preferred but not required.Knowledge of, and skill in using, a computer, modern office suite software (such as MS Office), and specialized software, including HR management systems, enterprise systems, social media and Internet tools.Knowledge of the principles and practices of position classification, position management, and human resources management.Knowledge of the principles and practices of job analysis and compensation management.Thorough knowledge of the utilization of computer technology to prepare statistical data, reports and analyses.Skill in conducting job analysis and position classification reviews.Skill in the preparation, maintenance, and presentation of reports.Skill in the use of database, spreadsheet, word processing, and HRIS applications.Skill in the analysis of management, organizational, and operational issues.Skill in oral and written communication.Interpersonal skills to interact with contacts in a businesslike, customer service-oriented manner by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and working in harmony with others.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative, professional and support employees; representatives of employee organizations; representatives of recruitment sources; and citizens and job applicants.Ability to plan, coordinate, organize, schedule and prioritize activities, functions, and assignments with the flexibility to adapt to changing and urgent deadlines and work requirements.Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with school district administrative, professional, and staff employees, and employee organizations, and to meet with these individuals to stay abreast of events and issues, focusing on problem identification and resolution, information exchange, and joint cooperation.QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSPossession of a bachelor's degree, plus four years of increasing responsible, professional experience in human resources, business, government, or school administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates that the incumbent possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in the position.Experience with position classification, compensation management, and/or position management is preferred.CONTACT INFORMATION:APPLICATION PROCESSCandidates must apply online and attach a resume, a written statement of interest in and qualifications for this position.
