For more information, please visit: www.guidehouse.com.ResponsibilitiesWe seek candidates with extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI with proven ability to work independently in converting business and functional requirements into complex reports, data visualizations and dashboards. As a Power BI expert, the senior consultant will be responsible for analyzing, cleansing and transforming data from various sources and setting up security roles. This includes providing technical and analytical guidance for Power BI architecture and implementing best practices in application systems development and security.This position requires the individual to provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization and coordination of technical activities related to dashboard development with multiple stakeholders. Accountable to business and technology management for end-to-end application scoping, planning, development and delivery that meets and exceeds quality standards. Our professionals help our clients to harness their data to transform their business processes, improve internal controls, improve efficiency of operations, increase transparency and performance management, and to comply with Federal laws and regulations. The nature of our projects is extremely fluid and requires self-motivated individuals that are willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals. Our professionals need to work across multiple solution systems for the business with existing client systems.QualificationsRequired:The contractual requirements for this position require the candidate to be a Citizen.The successful candidate will have proven experience supporting development and maintenance of business intelligence reports utilizing a variety of platforms. Experience performing similar development and maintenance of reports/dashboards in federal agencies. The candidate will provide oversight and be accountable for quality of services and deliverables.5+ years of experience working directly with Power BIPerform data model design and implementationData experience (data architecture, data modeling, data engineering)3+ years' experience with writing and debugging SQL queriesHave proven experience in visual analytics best practices, development processes, and knowledge of typical BI & analytics tools and technologies (Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, etc.)Ability to integrate reporting components from multiple data sourcesEffective analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work concurrently across multiple technologies (eg Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau) depending upon specific needs of the clientAbility to manage multiple parallel assignments and meet specified milestonesExperience in optimizing dashboards with focus on usability, performance, flexibility and standardizationExperience in end-to-end implementation of BI projects for developing a portfolio of scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboardsProvides technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to ownersEnsures delivered solutions meets technical and functional/non-functional performance requirements withinManage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activitiesClearly communicate Expectations, Roles and Responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet the expectationsClient-facing experience in a consulting environment among mid-level to senior leadershipFantastic communicator at all levelsPassionate about data visualizationAbility to perform training and mentorshipDegree:Holds a four-year degree from an accredited college or universityMicrosoft Power BI certificationPreferred:Prior experience with OBIEE is a plusExperience working in federal environmentExperience utilizing an issue tracking software such as JIRAAdditional RequirementsThe successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.This position is open to candidates virtually from Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona or Eastern, Pacific, and Central time zones.Due to our contractual requirements and federal orders, including an Executive Order from the White House and an emergency regulation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the position for which you are applying requires that you provide proof of your vaccination status.
