Essential Functions: Assist personnel in the interpretation of Personnel Security Clearances and Visitor Control directives and procedures. Facilitate the proper receipt, recording, filing, and issuance of personnel clearances, and badges. Resolve problems associated with Personnel Security Clearances, Visitor Control and Badging. Resolve problems and establish priorities for clearance requests, and ensure strict compliance with established government and internal procedures for the receipt, cataloging, filing, reproduction, and special handling requirements associated with the Personnel Security Clearance and Visitor Control. Maintain records of all personnel files, released, received, transmitted, or filed. Following stringent government and internal procedures, ensure that all personnel information is properly prepared for forwarding to the authorized recipient. Verify facility clearance level for sending appropriate security clearances for classified visits. Execute proper disposition of incoming/outgoing telecommunications and facsimiles, ensuring that intended recipients are notified. Recommend alternate methods and procedures to facilitate the required control of personnel clearances and visitor control. Assist higher coded personnel in the modification/updating of the Security Information Management System (SIMS) database.Perform accurate data entry functions to the security database as required. Perform various other Security Services monitoring assignments within the scope of this position description as required This is an SEA Union Represented position This is a 1st shift position. Basic Qualification: High school/commercial school graduate or equivalent. Demonstrate an understanding of security database management systems. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Word and Excel Office business tools. Successfully complete one (1) Defense Security Service (DSS) independent study course. Experience Requirements: Candidate for this position must possess the required level of security clearance to successfully perform in this position. This position may require periodic extensive background investigations and government sponsored industrial polygraph examination Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
