Overview: The Assistant Manager (ASM) is responsible for all aspects of managing the business in conjunction with the Store Manager. In the absence of a Store Manager it is the responsibility of the Assistant Manager to oversee all aspects of the business. The Assistant Manager demonstrates the ability to meet individual sales and metric goals; drive profitable top-line sales growth; coaches store associates to achieve sales goals; consistently provides customers with an exceptional shopping experience; and is responsible for managing the operational execution of the store. The Assistant Manager should have experience in assessing, recruiting and screening talent. The Assistant Manager will generally be scheduled a minimum of 35 hours per week. At times the ASM may be schedule up to 40 hours per week and overtime may be required based on the needs of the business. Overtime is defined as hours worked over 40 or in some states hours worked over 8 in a day. Any overtime worked must be approved by the Store Manager and District Manager.ASM COMPETENCIES AND SKILLSThe Assistant Manager must demonstrate a set of competencies/skills that establish them as a leader within the store. These competencies outline a skill-set that is required of an Assistant Manager to be successful in their role.
