Principal Specialist, Project Controls The Principal Specialist, Project Controls is responsible for leading a team of one or more project controls specialists on a major project and accountable for the performance and results of scheduling and cost on the project. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of scheduling and cost control including trending, analysis, forecasting, change control, cash flow and reporting. Position is accountable for the performance of the project controls discipline or sub-group within project controls. Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members. Participates in the development of functional strategy and procedures estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling. The incumbent will be assigned to KBR's Newark, DE office. Work can be performed in a flexible work schedule, with remote and office work. The incumbent may work with other Project Controls team members located internationally, in other KBR offices and be responsible for their performance and execution. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the project estimating, cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling efforts on a major project Responsible for all aspects of cost control including trending, analysis, forecasting, change control, cash flow and reporting. Drive effective execution of project control functions on various capital projects. Actively interfaces with engineering work group leads, procurement specialists, and field execution personnel to obtain needed cost and schedule performance status updates for including into integrated project performance reporting. Review and audit cost, progress and schedule reports that are prepared by others Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Provides project priorities to project team members to drive project completion. Actively participates in identification of negative trends and identifying corrective action recommendations to project manager and team members. Perform project cost and schedule forecasting and reporting on projects REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree, preferred within Engineering, Economics, Construction Management, Finance or Business 15+ years in EPC Project controls in energy and chemicals industry Project Controls experience related to Project FEL, Detailed Design and Construction preferred Proficient in P6 Primavera and scheduling techniques, risk assessments, budget development, cost analysis, forecasting and variance reporting techniques Earned Value, with CPI and SPI knowledge and experience preferred Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Skill should include pivot tables, formulas, chart creation and managing large data files Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function within a project team Must be able to self-lead and communicate to all levels of project team, including management and clients Preferred: Knowledge of the following PC's concepts, processes, and software applications is beneficial. Experience with use of the SAP cost system Facilitating Interactive Planning Sessions Advanced Work Packaging Performance metrics & benchmarking Project Risk Analysis methods.
