Systems Software Engineer - REMOTEAlthough in stealth mode, we are very excited to share our story with interested engineers looking to join our growing team.Our startups mission is to enable applications to offer blockchain-native transparency and decentralization while also meeting the privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance requirements necessary for worldwide adoption.As a Systems Software Engineer, you will closely collaborate with fellow engineers and product managers. The focus is on developing a decentralized blockchain (aka ledger system) that supports privacy-preserving applications and interoperability with existing blockchains like Ethereum. Applications include issuance and transfer of financial assets, smart contracts, and more. On a technical level, decentralization is achieved via protocols including "proof-of-stake" consensus and P2P gossip, while the balance of privacy and regulatory compliance is achieved through the use of zero-knowledge proofs. Your focus will be on the communication, consensus, and storage components of the ledger system, while using the cryptography library developed by our cryptography team as a black box.Startup is backed by leading venture capital funds including Polychain Capital, Greylock Partners, Electric Capital, and Sequoia Capital, in addition to major industry players such as Coinbase Ventures, Paxos, Gemini, and more. Represent start-up at academic conferences and relevant industry events.Requirements BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant field, or significant computer science and software engineering experience Knowledge of software engineering and security best practices.Strong written and verbal communication skills Passion for writing correct code Proficiency with Rust in a production environment (or similar strongly-typed languages such as C++, Haskell, Ocaml, etc.) Experience with distributed systems and/or blockchain systems, especially P2P networking and consensus.
