Duties

  • Oversees the organization?s Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS) and the Unit Deployment Package (UDP) programs.
  • Coordinates with headquarters, field installations, and other service personnel to justify, defend, or negotiate aspects of the programs.
  • Directs work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities and skill level required.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates directives to ensure compliance with program goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements program policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Plans, manages, and analyzes complex integrated logistics programs.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GS- 13 Level:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) Conducting program readiness studies and analysis ;
(2) Providing subject matter expertise and;
(3) Managing logistics readiness .


This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 12 ).

GS- 14 Level:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) Implementing policies and procedures that govern logistical programs;
(2) Managing logistics readiness;
(3) Conducting force structure analysis to prepare authorizations and reduce costs; and
(4) Budget planning and forecasting of medical supplies and equipment.


This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 13 ).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12 & GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
