Payroll Compliance AuditorCalibre CPA Group is seeking Entry-Level Benefit Auditors to work in the firm's Payroll Audit department. This position involves analyzing and reviewing payroll, tax, and personnel records to determine employer compliance with collective bargaining agreements. Our Benefit Auditors are responsible for creating and submitting reports of audit findings to fund administrators on a variety of employee benefit plans.This exciting opportunity typically involves significant (50%) travel throughout the US and allows our auditors the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. When not traveling, this position is based out of our downtown Bethesda, MD office, with convenient Metro access. More than one position may be filled from this posting.We also have offices in New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, and Mokena, IL.Position ResponsibilitiesSchedule and coordinate audit appointments with employers.Perform compliance audits using payroll, tax, and other personnel records.Communicate with employers effectively to obtain required information and to review audit resultsCompute audit results and prepare audit reports.Research payroll records, reports, and contracts.Travel to employer facilities to conduct on-site inspection of records.Transfer payroll data onto worksheets.Retrieve accurate information from various in-house departments.Research and arrange cost effective travel to visit client sitesJob RequirementsBachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, etc.).Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.Experience with or knowledge of payroll systems is preferred.Valid Driver's LicenseMust be able to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the US Must be willing to drive 2+ hours to client sites, when applicableDemonstrated organizational skillsExperience with or knowledge of collective bargaining agreements is a plus.Experience with or knowledge of payroll systems is a plus.About UsCalibre is an established and growing public accounting firm with an 80-year history in the Washington, DC and Chicago markets.
