This team is responsible for developing acquisition, lending and loss mitigation strategies to optimize risk-adjusted returns for PNC's residential real estate loan portfolio and monitor the performance of the residential real estate portfolio.This position will provide in-depth analytics supporting home equity and mortgage products, for both on- and off- balance sheet exposures. In your role, you will draw upon a combination of problem-solving, quantitative analysis and product knowledge. You will also rely on strong communication skills in order to share complex analytical results with non-technical audiences. All the while, you'll benefit from access to senior professionals within the fields in a friendly, open, and engaging environment.The position may located in Northern VA or Pittsburgh, PA.Job Duties:Design, develop and validate risk-adjusted return and other credit portfolio metrics for the residential real estate portfolio.Understand drivers of profitability, loss, and capital requirements, including funding costs.Provide recommendations to improve retention strategies, loss mitigation and balance sheet optimization.Answer ad-hoc requests for product strategy in the mortgage and home equity spacesAnalyze consumer behavior, industry trends and performance in the residential real estate markets in order to predict future behavior and performanceSupport data extraction and data preparation for analytical purposes.The successful candidate will have the following qualification:Graduate degree in statistics, economics, finance and business are preferredPreferred experience in analytics, portfolio management and strategies, credit risk analysis, loss forecast, economic capitals.Experience in residential real estate portfolio is desiredAbility to work on multiple projects on a concurrent basis, and able to meet tight deadlinesProficient in data analysis using various tools and statistical packagesStrong data skills and experience with SAS, and database management tools is strongly preferred.Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams comprising of experts is valuableJob DescriptionProvides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products.Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations.Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.Works with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting to track and enhance strategies. Specific certifications are often required.
