It provides girls in grades K-12 with opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and discover the power of girls together. We're the preeminent leadership development organization for girls.An Excellent OpportunityWe are searching for an outstanding Controller to lead the 4-person Finance department in the monthly and annual financial statements. The Controller also prepares and reports on the council's annual operating budgets. The right candidate will have experience in managing audits, to oversee the annual audit, 403(b) audit, and 990 activities.Here's What You Will Be DoingMaintain and produce financial reports, records, and statementsPlanning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including month-end closingsPlan and manage annual financial and retirement plan audits from start to finishCollaborate with fellow staff department heads to coordinate projects and workflowPrepare monthly net asset and grant revenue reconciliationsCreate monthly financial statementsWork with department managers to plan and purchase capital assetsAssist CFO with cash forecasting and financial presentations for Board of DirectorsHire, supervise, manage, and direct the work of Finance & Accounting Specialist, Revenue Operations Specialist, and General Ledger AccountantIs this you?Bachelor's degree in AccountingNonprofit accounting experience would be very helpful (but not a must)Self-motivated, efficient, independent on short- and long-term tasksDriven to find ways to make systems and processes more effective and efficientGreat written and oral communication skills, including explaining financial concepts to non-financial mindsHighly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office programsA wiz with advanced spreadsheets and financial software, a big plus!Experience supervising and appropriately delegating to professional staffCan effectively prioritize and execute multiple projectsCreative problem-solverDetail-oriented and well-organizedStrong analytical skillsSome of Our Benefits100% employer-paid HMO for employees (dependent coverage, POS, dental/vision available)3% employer contribution to 403(b), plus additional 2% matchHybrid work environment: combining flexibility of telework with in-person human interaction!Generous paid leave benefitsPaid holidays/office closures include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and December 26-31.
