P. Hill, Virginia. Our responsibilities include system capital investment, regulatory and environmental compliance, planning, asset recapitalization, and long-term operations and maintenance. The water system consists of eight distinct water distribution systems, which include over 48 miles of pipe, twenty-nine water wells, thirty chlorination disinfection systems, eleven booster pumps, twelve storage tanks, two fire booster pumps, and numerous fire hydrants and valves. The wastewater system is composed of four independent components that include over 33 miles of pipe, 38 lift stations, two treatment plants and two lagoons for treatment.We are looking for a experienced and skilled electrician to add to our team! Performs other related functions and duties as assigned or as they become apparent and necessary. This position is required to carry out tasks with a minimum of directions. The person must demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and ability to complete jobs with and without help from others.Key AccountabilitiesResponsible for all project electrical work , including but not limited to, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, lighting, outlets, switches, wiring motors, motor controls, instrumentation installation and troubleshooting, SCADA system hardware maintenance, start-up testing, control panel maintenance, and power tools.Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers. Coordinates and communicates with project personnel as well as other outside entities to ensure operational reliability and environmental compliance.Capable of conducting duties in a safe, efficient manner that will insure safety to themselves, co-workers and the public. Follows Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies. Reports unsafe conditions.Participation in the following safety programs plus other safety programs identified by AW:Respiratory ProgramLock-out Tag-out ProgramBloodborne Pathogen ProgramChlorine Safety ProgramConfine Space ProgramFall Protection & Climbing Safety ProgramHazard Communication ProgramHearing Conservation ProgramHot Works ProgramPipe Plug Safety ProgramPPE Safety ProgramSPPC ProgramAll other duties as assigned.Knowledge/SkillsDemonstrates knowledge, ability and understanding of electrical tasks normally associated with water distribution and wastewater collection systems, as well as electro-mechanical related equipment.Must have a thorough knowledge, understanding and ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics and ladder logic drawings.Knowledge of and access to electrical commercial and industrial codes as defined by NEC, OSHA, NFPAUnderstands and can operate basic computer software, including RSLogix and RS Link's ladder logic electrical control diagnostic software. Has an understanding of computer hardware, SCADA and wiring instruments.Ability to properly utilize precision tools and instruments (electrical test equipment, thermo graphic analysis and vibration equipment)Ability to properly utilize tools required by the job, including but not limited to, hand tools, power tools.Capable of written and verbal communication to all necessary entities.Experience/EducationHigh School diploma, GED, or experience in related field.3-5 years as an electrician working with 480-volt electrical systemsPossess and maintain a valid Driver's LicenseCertification as a licensed electrician desired, but not required as equivalent experience and training can be substituted.Work EnvironmentSubject to outdoor/indoor elements and to temperature changes, hot/cold, walking, kneeling standing, lifting, and bending.
