Job Description:SUMMARY: The Team Leader is responsible for leading bridge inspection teams and assisting in the successful completion of bridge inspection projects.TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Directs and performs field inspection and evaluation of bridge structures in compliance with established inspection programs.Directs and/or performs the testing of materials to ensure project specification compliance.Directs the preparation of comprehensive bridge inspection reports.Directs and supervises the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters and administrative staff.Uses computer assisted engineering and office software and equipment to prepare engineering documents.Participates in internal and external project meetings and actively assists in resolving project issues.Actively works to ensure that established project schedules and budgets are met.Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university and a minimum of 4 years of bridge inspection experience.REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:Professional Engineer (PE)FHWA-NHI #130055 - Safety Inspection of In-Service BridgesFHWA-NHI #130053 - Bridge Inspection Refresher (required if #130055 taken more than 5 years ago)Valid US Passport (or the ability to obtain within 6 months)Job Requirements:QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.
