NEMA supports its Members through development of Standards and building codes, public policy advocacy, and decision-grade business intelligence.The Program Manager, Building Infrastructure oversees national and international technical programs"A cents € including Standards and building code development"A cents € within the NEMA Building Infrastructure Division. The Building Infrastructure Division includes products that supply electricity safely and efficiently, such as enclosures, conduit, raceway, wire management systems, and surge protective devices.Qualified candidates have strong technical/engineering, communication, and project management skills; a background in electrical, electronics, digital, or related systems is a plus. The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit and strategic focus on strengthening and expanding the activities of the NEMA Building Infrastructure Division.The position reports to the Industry Director, Building Infrastructure and is based in Arlington, Virginia with the option for remote work. The position includes up to 20 percent travel, both domestic and international. NEMA is a hybrid workplace with work conducted both in-person and remotely.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Program Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on building electrical infrastructure, expanding NEMA technical capabilities and services for technologies in buildings. The position may perform additional tasks as assigned.Manage several technical programs related to building infrastructure productsLead development of new technical Standards and modifications to building codes to promote NEMA Members' building infrastructure products and systemsBuild and maintain personal relationships with NEMA Members, internal and external technical committees and organizations, and key participants in the Standards development processExperience and QualificationsUndergraduate degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline required; advanced degree a plusAStd or CStd Standards professional certification a plus3-5 or more years of full-time experience in related field(s); experience in manufacturing, maintenance, installation, testing of related electrical/electronic products or comparable military experience a plusFamiliarity with Standards development procedures (eg, ANSI, IEC) and code development (eg, National Electrical Code)Knowledge of existing and emerging building technologiesProject management, time management, and budgeting skills; ability to execute multiple projects against demanding timelinesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using online collaboration and communication software (eg, SharePoint, Teams)NEMA offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package including paid holidays and personal time, flexible working hours, 401(k) plan, health/dental insurance, and partial pre-tax parking/Metro subsidy.
