Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Accountant to work in our Dulles, VA location.Candidate applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree9 years of cost accounting experience including application of overhead and G&A ratesExperience in month end closing processExpert Proficiency in ExcelExperience with Cognos or other similar reporting toolsUnderstanding of FAR, GAAP, CAS and SOX requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or SAPSalary Range: 94200 - 141400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
