You have the technical training and experience that demonstrates your expertise in electromagnetic motor design and analysis. You have demonstrated experience with working with multidisciplinary teams for system design. You also have:A Master s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years experience in design and simulation of electric machinesExpert level user of electromagnetic tools such as ANSYS (preferred), JMAG, for electric machine designGood fundamental understanding of brushless, switched reluctance, Induction, PMDC and universal motorsExperience in using optimizations tools such as Ansys OptiSLang to optimize electromagnetic designsUnderstanding and experience with thermal analysis and simulation relating to electric machinesExperience with system simulation and co-simulation tools such as Simplorer and/or MATLAB/SimulinkExperience with analyzing and mitigating NVH issuesKnowledgeable of and simulation experience with 6 step, sinusoidal, and FOC control algorithmsAbility to model various electromagnetic components in 2d and 3d such as solenoids, magnet/hall device interactions, novel electric machine constructionsGood fundamental understanding of motor manufacturing processes, familiarity with Electronics Hardware, Various battery technology, and ac line constraints/limitations.Demonstrated relevant experience in a professional environment is a mustWhat You ll DoAs a key member of leadership team of Global Electrical System and Motor Development team based in Towson, MD, You will,Lead electromagnetic optimization for motor designs on existing frame sizes for specific projectsSupport electromagnetic design and optimization of new motor platformsDevelop and verify tailored simulation tools for the design and optimization of electric machinesWorks as a member of a cross-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, Advanced Manufacturing and CAE Engineers on New Product Development for Power Tools and Outdoor products.Perform tradeoff analysis of existing and new motor topologies for given constraints and objectives to meet product requirements.Support thermal analysis on electric machines to characterize thermal behavior for given conditions and design for thermal stabilityPerform system simulation of power source, drive, electric machine and load and work with other teams to provide feedback and support for the system designMentor and develop Junior EngineersEvaluate various emerging motor technologies for Power Tool and Outdoor applications.Benefits & PerksYou ll get a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits plan that includes medical, dental, life, vision, wellness program, disability, 401k, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Paid Time Off, including paid vacation, holidays & personal days, and tuition reimbursement.
