Overview:The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for making sure that each building facility and its services meet the needs of the people that work in the space. This position supports all regular and emergency building support requirements, including office moves, essential building maintenance.Responsibilities:23370 GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKERThe General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.Responsibilities and Duties:Assists with general building facilities support tasksManagement supporting the facility HVAC systems.Escorting outside contractorsDeliver and distribute materials in a professional and courteous mannerSupport inventory control and the movement of materials.Snow removalMaintain a safe, clean environment at all timesOther duties as assignedPreferred:Basic knowledge of building operationsGeneral computer knowledgeGood customer service skills#IND123Qualifications:Required:2 years- general building facilities support & maintenanceAbility to achieve and maintain a DoD Secret ClearancePreferred Education and Experience:Basic knowledge of building operationsGeneral computer knowledge
