As a Senior Tax Accountant - Income Tax supporting the GDIT Tax Department, you will be trusted to support tax department strategy, planning and compliance functions. In this role, a typical day will include:Tax Strategy and Planning:Participates in tax forecasts including liability, cash tax and effective tax rateStrategic tax planning, analysis, and communicationIdentify/Support tax saving or risk mitigating opportunitiesImplement/Manage tax saving or risk mitigating opportunitiesAnalyze and support tax ramifications of contract proposalsResearch jurisdictional tax law and maintains current knowledge of tax laws affecting the companyProvide guidance to non-tax functions regarding direct and indirect tax requirementsAccounting for Income Tax and Tax Compliance:Analyze and prepare journal entries including income and transactional taxesPreparation of federal and state income tax returnsAssist in automation and review of indirect tax returnsSupport corporate headquarters in audit inquiriesSupport state income and non-income tax audit inquiriesParticipates/Assists in business unit financial statement internal and external audit inquiriesIdentify/Support process improvements, systems enhancements, and process automationREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or relevant discipline5+ years of relevant experienceExperience with corporate taxationUS Citizenship for system accessPreferred Qualifications:Highly proficient and able to perform all responsibilities associated with the positionGrasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignmentsShows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment, and professionally executes projects with little directionLeadership and supervisory skillsIn-depth knowledge of computer computerized Finance SystemsEffective written and verbal communication skillsModerately complex financial analysis skillsTax preparation or work experience with multi-state corporationsHandles moderately complex assignments and multiple projects at onceIntermediate knowledge of revenue recognition and profit analysis concepts and techniquesIntermediate knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley audit and reporting requirementsIntermediate Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Intermediate technical knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)Intermediate technical knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)Intermediate knowledge of Long-Term Accounting for Government contracts, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Financial Accounting Standards Board statements, Securities Exchange ActWHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:Full-flex work week401K with company matchChallenging work that makes a real impact on the world around youInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career#GDITPriorityGDIT CAREERSOpportunity OwnedNot sure this job's the one for you?
