This role is responsible for performing HR-related duties in the following HR functional areas: benefits, recruitment/employment, onboarding/ offboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance. The office administration component of this position is responsible for overall front office activities, including IT, purchase requests, and facilities.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is just as comfortable working autonomously as with a team. This candidate should be culture-focused, bringing enthusiasm to the office and offering up new ideas and programs.Essential FunctionsAs a Human Resources-Office Specialist, you will be responsible for performing the following functions:.Performs benefits administration tasks to include enrollment, claims, change reporting, reconciling invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to associates.Assists in the administration of various human resources plans and procedures, assists in the management and implementation of the associate handbook and personnel policies and procedures, in conjunction with the AVP, Administration and Human Resources.Conducts recruitment efforts; organizes and executes new hire orientations; monitors career development programs.Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in department efficiencies and services performed.Maintains department records and reports.Maintains compliance with federal and state labor regulations.Supervises the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, phones and postage machines.Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations such as distributing correspondence (mail and phone), distributing building access keys and security cards.Supervises and coordinates overall administrative and office activities.Supervises the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, and housekeeping of office facilities.Responsible for internal office moves.Participates as needed in special department projects.Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings as necessary.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment and supports both in-office and remote associates. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position is not likely to require additional hours.TravelMinimal out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.Required ExperienceBetween three and five years of combined human resources and office administration experience.Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Human Resources or an equivalent degree preferredSolid understanding of federal and state employment regulationsWorking knowledge of office processesProfessional experience with trade association, financial services or the non-profit/cooperative fields preferredAdditional Eligibility QualificationsExcellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast- paced environment and balance multiple prioritiesHigh attention to details and exceptional follow-throughExperience with ADP Workforce Now, DC Health Link and Compease are a plus
