Supervisor, Cash & League Accounting
Overview:Job Title: Supervisor, Cash & League AccountingDepartment: AccountingReports to: Manager, Cash and League AccountingFLSA: ExemptSUMMARY: The Supervisor of Cash and League Accounting manages all aspects of accounting for cash and bowling centers' league activities. The role is key in supporting various areas in the Accounting and Financial reporting departments, as well as managing league accounting transactions. This individual will be providing leadership in establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Other duties may be assigned.Manage daily, weekly and monthly accounting processes related to cash and league activities.Perform and oversee accurate and timely reporting, with established timelines, of Company cash and league account reconciliations.Provide leadership to staff, and among other things, to improve processes, career development, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.Work closely with other departments, including Sales Audit, Treasury, and bowling centers in all aspects related to the accounting of cash and league accounts.Prepare related monthly analytical review of account variances.Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including year-end financial statements. Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses.Communicate through written and oral correspondence with bowling centers, corporate personnel, auditors and any others in a timely and professional manner.Communicate issues and findings and recommend corrective action.Cross-train with others in the accounting and financial reporting areas.Manage effective customer service and field communication between multiple departments and bowling centers to accurately reflect league transactions.Ensure proper center adherence to company eligibility requirements and qualifications for accurate payoff of league prize fund accounts, league bonuses and other league incentives.Extract league disbursement and prize fund liability data from various financial systems to compile and provide reporting and analysis as needed to all levels of management.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: YesQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Bachelor's degree in Accounting and five to seven related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, must possess strong computer skills.Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of the accounting, financial reporting and league accounting team. CPA license preferred.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make sound decisions and work with minimal direction. Excellent time-management skills with proven ability to multi-task in a deadline oriented, changing environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; working with individuals at all levels, internally and externally. Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees).Work Environment/Physical Demands: General office environment where you will walk, bend and stand for periods of time.
