Job Title: Audit Senior for Emerging Entities DivisionPOSITION SUMMARY: EMERGING ENTITIES DIVISION SUMMARYEmerging Entities refer to startups and organizations in the early stages of growth that share operational challenges and limited resources. These include nonprofits, as well as commercial organizations. Too often we see organizations struggle with attracting and retaining talent, managing cash flow, setting up/implementing adequate accounting and HR controls and effectively setting up and utilizing technology. There are options to weigh; for example, hiring permanent full time vs. part-time vs. staff augmentation, investments in systems, developing policies, analyzing performance, and growth initiatives. Services provided include audit reviews and compilation, emerging business tax strategies, performance improvement/cost reduction, single audits, and risk consulting. Final candidates will have current, solid experience serving clients in the areas described in this summary, and will be able to confidently demonstrate the same. Having key experience with assisting with early stage businesses includes setting up accounting records and assessing operations. Successful candidates will be able to discuss their familiarity with audit reviews and compilations. Experience completing Form 990 is a plus for this position. Experience working with smaller engagements is ideal.Final candidates will ensure successful completion of assigned audit engagements, from start to finish, inclusive of pre-planning and wrap up activities. The Emerging Entities Audit Senior manages and directs daily activities of more junior team members assigned to assist during an engagement. Applies risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered and identifies any potential issues. Communicates identified issues with management to ensure any potential concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner. POSITION SUMMARYProviding timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectationsPreparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable conditions letters, with an eye on quality, thoroughness and accuracyDeveloping an understanding of client's business, and becoming a "functional expert" in the areaKeeping lines of communication open with staff and clientsSupervising engagement team as neededMonitoring and reporting regarding the productivity of staff, and adherence to work plan schedules on each assignmentStaying abreast of latest developments and ensuring professional development through ongoing educationAnticipating and addressing client concerns and escalating problems as they arise.Recognizing and informing senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clientsPOSITION REQUIREMENTSA Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related fieldTwo or more years public accounting experience as an audit professionalCPA or demonstrated progress toward obtaining CPA certificationOne or more years "in-charging" audit engagementsUnderstanding of audit services with knowledge of FASB and GAASDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSCPA license a plusStrong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, review experience a plusEffective verbal and written communication skills, as well as good computer skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslySuccessful experience with smaller engagements within a regional accounting firm is a plusPhysical Requirements. Proficiency in use of computers, computer accounting software, and tax software programs.. Prolonged use of hands and fingers. Ability to read fine print.
