Large Financial organization is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. Following established policies and procedures, you will contact members (via telephone, mail, e-mail) in an effort to resolve the delinquent status; maintain related records and summaries of delinquent account activity; ensuring member satisfaction and regulatory compliance. You will collect overdrafts, negative share accounts, delinquent loans, and Credit Card accounts. You will respond to questions and/or provide information upon request from members (internal and external) on various financial planning and budgeting services. You will process requests and transactions, as appropriate. Top priority will be assisting members and potential members in understanding and utilizing Credit Union products and services.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. AA degree preferred or College coursework in Business and/or
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting and Debt Collections laws and regulations.
  • Knowledgeof lending polices desirable.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years consumer collection experience preferably in a financial
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills. Ability to deal with difficult members,
    resolves problems, and work well under pressure. Must possess a strong service orientation. Ability to manage
    multiple priorities. Extensive telephone work.
  • PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and
    the Internet.
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to:
    Must have experience with bankruptcies, tax levies, garnishments, researching credit report disputes, Chex-Systems
    and e-Oscar.
