Responsibilities:

Reports to the Vice President, Women and Children's, provides mission-focused care in an open, friendly and collaborative environment.
  • The Director, Labor and Delivery and High Risk Perinatology Center is responsible for the operational management, leadership, professional development and quality of care delivery of the Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Collaborates with medical leadership to monitor quality and assure that care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.Improving the patient experience and ensuring staff safety.
  • Manages a highly skilled team of labor and delivery experts. Provides an opportunity for professional growth and development. Promotes and ensures staff voice in professional practice.
  • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with others, including managers, directors, external constituents and other providers.
  • Leads work teams and committees to develop and achieve workplans.
  • Prepares and manages operating budgets to meet organizational goals and objectives. Monitors expenses and takes corrective action to meet budgeted targets. Accurately forecasts costs by trending key cost drivers and other health industry trends.


What you will need:
  • Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years management experience in comparable area of an acute care setting is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. MSN or Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
  • Specialty certification required within six (6) months of hire.
