Duties

  • Review statements for accuracy to ensure compliance with terms and allocation has been accounted for adequately.
  • The employee uses various automated financial management systems and advanced office automation skills to perform technical work and support budget operations.
  • Participate in the budget formulation and execution process by compiling, consolidating, verifying, and arranging funding data in budgetary requests.
  • Monitors and tracks funds distribution, reconciling commitments/obligations and reallocating organizational funds as directed.
  • The employee is designated as a timekeeper in the Automated Time and Attendance Payroll System (ATAAPS).
  • The employee is appointed as a routing official in the Defense Travel System (DTS).

  • TOP SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • DRUG TESTING - The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT LEVEL 1 CERTIFIED - must be able to obtain this certification within 24 months from hire date.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilize financial management data systems to perform technical work and support budget operations; 2) Monitor costs and create reports projecting use of available resources; 3) Perform advanced office administration and clerical procedures; and 4) Utilize budget principles, practices, methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NK-02 or GS-07.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
