Duties

  • You will operate and maintain a wide variety of auxiliary and boiler equipment.
  • You will perform preventative, operational, and emergency maintenance on boiler, chiller auxiliary, and pollution control equipment.
  • You will collect and perform chemical tests on various types of water samples to determine appropriate treatment.
  • You will use computers and software for water plant operation.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to wear and qualify in the use of respiratory protection equipment.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Starting, operating, adjusting, stopping, maintaining, and performing various operational repairs on single or multiple fuel power boilers; 2) Maintaining heat exchanges and combustion control equipment for efficient operating condition; and 3) Troubleshoot and determine action necessary to maintain adequate steam production. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

This position requires rotating shift work.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
