Duties

As a Records and Information Management Specialist, GS-0308-14, you will perform the following major duties:
  • Implements records management policy by establishing policies, plans, goals, objectives, and implementation strategies to ensure consistency and compliance with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulatory requirements in the records management area.
  • Serves as the agency's representative for the NTSB Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program, as mandated by NARA.
  • Serves as the representative for the electronic records and management system implementation.
  • Plans and oversees the review of all existing records management operations, procedures, and processes in effect at all levels within the agency, including transfer to approved records management storage facilities, and authorization of all records destruction requests.
  • Directs periodic record inventories and updates records schedules, ensuring that schedules include new records series and systems and do not include series or systems that no longer exist.
  • Provides records management guidance and direction to other IT management work efforts including change management, disaster recovery and emergency management, and communications.

Qualifications

GS-14: You MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is defined as: develop, implement, and support the Records Management Division, by defining standards and guidelines; developing policy, procedures, and training; providing technical assistance and evaluating the program activities to recommend changes; ensuring that agency records are managed in a manner that facilitates prompt, courteous, accurate and complete response to public and other inquiries in accordance with all legal requirements.
