This position manages all of the payroll, visa processes and human resource operations as well as the State (hard) budget processes for the Department of Biology. The incumbent must have comprehensive best practices in HR procedures. The incumbent also prepares and analyzes salary data to ensure validity and for use by the Ex Dir and the Department Chair.
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience: 3 to 5 years work experience managing human resources services with an emphasis on a large (150 - 200 employees) and complex payroll.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of financial and business operations, especially personnel
Excellent written and verbal skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities on tight deadlines. A working knowledge of federal rules and regulations regarding grant funding
Demonstrates flexibility, problem solving, creativity, good judgment, and ability to make decisions and accept responsibility.
Preferences: Business Management, Accounting, HR degree preferred. Experience in a higher education setting. Experiences with visa processing. Prior experience with medium to large organizational units. Supervision experience
