Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Associates degree or equivalent formal training in accounting, business, or a related field.
  2. Combination of education and related experience for a total of six years.
  3. Two years of direct responsibility with grants accounting.
  4. Experience working with a complex financial management system.
  5. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  6. Experience in a college environment preferred.

 

CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed.   • Handles cash management functions for all grants including preparation of reimbursement requests, draw-downs of funds and billing.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting entries and financial reports for all grants.
  • Ensures that grant funds are expended in compliance with the granting agency regulations; responsible for budgetary control of grants.
  • Prepares journal entries and reconciles various general ledger accounts.
  • Handles post-award administration of grants.
  • Interacts with outside agencies, independent auditors and project directors; serves as accounting office contact for all grants.
  • Monitors applicable federal regulations for regulatory changes and updates to grants and contracts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of changes in policies, procedures and guidelines of grants and contracts.
  • Regularly meets with grant project administrators providing updates on the financial status of grants and contracts.
  • Develops relationships with granting agencies and grant project administrators and support staff to direct and assist in the grant or contract.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
