- Associates degree or equivalent formal training in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Combination of education and related experience for a total of six years.
- Two years of direct responsibility with grants accounting.
- Experience working with a complex financial management system.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a college environment preferred.

- Handles cash management functions for all grants including preparation of reimbursement requests, draw-downs of funds and billing.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting entries and financial reports for all grants.
- Ensures that grant funds are expended in compliance with the granting agency regulations; responsible for budgetary control of grants.
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles various general ledger accounts.
- Handles post-award administration of grants.
- Interacts with outside agencies, independent auditors and project directors; serves as accounting office contact for all grants.
- Monitors applicable federal regulations for regulatory changes and updates to grants and contracts.
- Maintains current knowledge of changes in policies, procedures and guidelines of grants and contracts.
- Regularly meets with grant project administrators providing updates on the financial status of grants and contracts.
- Develops relationships with granting agencies and grant project administrators and support staff to direct and assist in the grant or contract.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
