Photo ID/Office/Operations AssistantThe George Mason University Arlington Campus Office of Administration and Operations is looking for an outgoing individual with excellent customer service skills for a part-time Photo ID/Office/Operations Assistant to help cover afternoon/evening shifts in our office at the Arlington Campus. The position is an hourly; part-time (approximately 25 hours per week), wage position with set hours on Monday through Thursday. Monday hours 1 PM until 5 PM, Tuesday through Thursday, 12 PM until 7 PM.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. Responsibilities: The Photo ID/Office/Operations Assistant will report to and assist the Operations Manager by processing Photo ID's, answering the main office phone and other related office projects. Duties will include, but are not limited to, processing Mason photo IDs as needed, answering the phone for Operations/Photo ID and Events Management for the Arlington Campus. This will also include routing calls to correct staff members. The assistant will monitor the Photo ID supplies and email the staff at the Fairfax Campus for replacement supplies. The assistant will provide general office coverage when other Arlington staff members are in meetings or out of the office. The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and will possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse audience, including current university faculty and staff, alumni, donors, students and the community. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are a plus. The candidate must be able to exercise sound and independent judgment, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks. This individual must function within well-defined guidelines and procedures to resolve routine issues and to make independent and logical decisions. This individual must also be proactive to resolve issues within and outside of the department. Required Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Experience in an academic office environment is a plus;Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a willingness to learn new programs is a must; andThis position may require moving furniture around for events and some moderate lifting.
